One job seeker claimed he got revenge on a hiring manager with this story in the New York Times. Read it here.
Essentially, the job seeker got frustrated waiting to hear from the employer. He called HR to say, “Thanks for offering me the job. I will be there on Monday!” Immediately he was bombarded with calls and messages. He didn’t get the job but he had the pleasure of confronting the HR person.
Was this job seeker silly? Did he make a statement? What would you have done?

He certainly burnt that bridge, but it was a bridge worth burning, and he got a good story out of it.
