I'm sure many of us have been there with our jobs, and it's sad to think that anyone who experiences misery on the job would take it out on someone else. The lesson here is appropriate for anyone and everyone, especially in the executive suite: Nurture and foster a climate of cooperation and respect, and instill coaching and training to help people get the most out of their work so that they feel pride in their work and a sense of accomplishment. That can go a long way toward keeping people engaged and motivated, and it can pay off in a more prosperous business.
